Will it grow? - Amla oil
Amla oil manufacturers don't claim that their product makes hair grow quickly but, among the natural and straight hair communities it is increasingly being used to promote fast hair growth. Does it really make your hair grow quickly though?
Amla oil has a high content of Vitamin C which, as discussed in the previous article, helps in sebum production. So amla oil helps nourish the scalp making it a good environment for hair to grow. It is also rich in Vitamin E which prevents hair fall and has natural antioxidant effects that support a healthy scalp. These Vitamins together contribute to cellular regeneration and promote blood circulation to the scalp which has been proven to increase hair growth.
Another great thing about amla oil is that it also helps in length retention by strengthening and moisturizing the hair thus significantly reducing breakage.
I personally use amla oil mostly on my scalp every 3-4 days and although I have not been using it for a long time, I can definitely tell that it softens and strengthens my hair and because it is such a light oil, it moisturizes my scalp without leaving it feeling too oily.
So does amla oil promote faster hair growth? Time will tell, but the science seems to support it. What has your experience been with amla oil? Let us know.
PS: Amla oil is safe to use by all hair types and textures and it smells really good too :).
